MOST COMMON POOL REPAIRS

Common Pool Repairs and When to Fix Them

As the owner of the swimming pool, you know the importance of regular upkeep and maintenance. However, there could always be some type of issue causing costly problems.  An important part of owning a pool is understanding how small issues can lead to larger problems and that taking care of them promptly is a wise decision. Here are the most common pool issues and the signs that you may be having a problem.

Pool Surface

Depending on the type of pool you have and the finish, it is typically warranted for ten years or less. One of the most common problems with the pool is chemical wear on the pool’s surface. Pool toys and usage over time cause erosion of the pool’s surface.  Issues with an eroding surface could lead to bigger problems like leaks or more damage.  This is part of maintaining a pool that must be done every 10 years or so depending on the care and balance of chemicals over the years and the type of surface previously applied.

Pool pump

The pool pump is used to circulate the water and keep it fresh and clean. The motor runs often and can have problems. An incorrectly working pool motor could run continually and possibly cause you higher electric bills. You could also have cloudy or dirty water due to a malfunction in the pool pump.  Dirty water is a sign that you have a problem with your pump. Pool pumps need to be serviced regularly in order to keep them in good working condition. Depending on the problem you are having the cost for repair will vary.

Pool Leaks

I’m sure you have noticed in the hot summer months that the pool water can evaporate very quickly. However, lower water levels can also be a sign of a leak. Leaks in pools can be difficult to determine and are best left by professionals. Depending on where the leak is and what is causing it will determine how it should be repaired.  Not repairing small leaks promptly can lead to much larger and costlier problems.

The key to any type of pool issue and repair is regular maintenance. You should have a pool company certified in repairs and check your pool on a regular basis. This will help determine small problems prior to them becoming large issues. For all of your pool needs including installation and repair call Grace Pool Finishing today.
